"Lest We Forget" exhibition - 29th June to 9th July

During HRR there will be an exhibition to commemorate the rowers of WW1 who died during WW1. It will include memorial volumes containing the names of 474 rowers who competed at Henley and rowed for numerous individual clubs and colleges. It is a free to enter exhibition and will take place in the Old Fire Station Gallery, Henley, located behind the Town Hall at the top of the High Street, straight up from the bridge. It will also contain an 8 foot x 4 foot memorial plaque on which each of the rowers will have a four line entry. The exhibition has been organised by Mike Willoughby, who was one of the guides on Leander Club's tour to the WW1 battlefields and cemeteries in March 2016. His 15 books of research on the Leander Men will also be on view. This exhibition is meant as a homage to all of the rowers of Henley from the Royal Engineers Yacht Club to Ibis and Customs Boat Club.
