LONDON DOCKLANDS REGATTA 2001

Held under ARA Rules of Racing. Two one-day seven lane regattas over 2000 metres to be held at the Royal Albert Dock, London E16 on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June 2001.

ENTRIES

Entries close at 6 pm on Wednesday 30 May 2001 and must be made in writing on this form to:- The Secretary, London Docklands REGATTA, Malcolm Taylor, 18a Warwick Road, LONDON W5 3XJ. A facsimile machine is available for summary of entries and certificate only on 020 8579 4544. Scullers names must be included or they will not be entered in draw. Please ensure that the certificate on the back page of this form is signed by an official of your club and do not fax individual ara forms.
Each club's summary of entries must be made on this form properly completed and certified.
Each crew/sculler must be entered on a separate ARA entry form. Details of current ARA registration number or payment of £11.00 for Day Ticket MUST accompany entry for each person for each day. Failure to show clearly the event which has been entered will result in the entrant being placed into the regatta on either day to suit the Race Committee. Proof of registration will be required on the day. Any substitute must provide proof of registration or £11.00 Day Ticket. Foreign entries will be permitted in accordance with ARA regulations.

PAYMENT

Cheques should be made payable to London Docklands Regatta. Any outstanding fees or ARA forms not received by 10 am on Thursday 7 June 2000 will result in a surcharge of £10 per crew, £5 per sculler. Any club in default of ANY entry fees one hour before that club's first competitor is due to race may be deemed to have scratched ALL their entries from the Regatta. The club will remain liable for all fees due at that time.

CONDITIONS

The London Docklands Regattas are open to all club and composite crews.

  1. The regattas’ events and entry fees are as listed.
  2. Competitors are to provide their own boats and oars. All boats must have Empacher slots for numbers on their bows. Numbers will be provided after check-in for a (refundable) deposit of £5 per number.
  3. The timetable and list of entries will be published at the London Regatta Centre on Tuesday 5 June.
  4. The Committee reserve the right to alter the timetable of racing and re-draw races. The Committee also reserve the right to alter the list of published entries to correct a mistake of the regatta or should the committee consider it to be in the best interests of racing.
  5. If there are less than 4 entries in an event, the committee will place the crews/scullers into the next higher status event available, without reference to the club, unless the club has specifically excluded such "upgrade" overleaf. If there is a total of less than 4 entries in an event, that event may not be included in the draw.
  6. Events will be rowed over 2000 metres.
  7. Doubling up of boats or competitors is at your own risk. The Committee may endeavour to accommodate doubling up if notified overleaf.
  8. Crews/scullers must have finished checking-in at race control at least 60 minutes before their first race each day and be at the 'pen' or marshalling area, about 250 metres short of the start, 10 minutes before heat time. Any crew presenting themselves at the pen less than 10 minutes before race time for a heat can expect to be eliminated.
  9. If 55 minutes before heat time, 7 crews or less have checked in, then there may be no heats and the final may be run at published heat time.
  10. No crew will be eliminated in heats unless beaten by at least three others.
  11. If the result of a final is a dead heat then there shall be an immediate re-row over the whole course.
  12. Lightweight men and women shall be weighed not more than two hours and not less than one hour before the first race in their event. To remain consistent with FISA, lightweight competitors must weigh-in wearing racing strip.
  13. Medals will be awarded for first, second (if four or more crews enter) and third (if five or more crews enter).
  14. Split times will be posted for each race, giving times at : 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 metres
  15. Medals will only be presented upon production of points books.

We suggest that you photocopy these conditions and your completed entry for your own records.

The Regattas held at Royal Albert Dock this year would not have been able to take place without a generous grant from the ARA in 2000 towards the costs of putting in the buoyed course.
